Louis Vuitton is a Fashion House famous for designer products including or maybe especially, it's handbags. Very well known is the Louis Vuitton monogrammed print that is often updated seasonally e.g. one year it was graffiti print and another year it had cherries added to it. However, the traditional monogrammed print is always available. The print is so well known that it is often copied and put onto fake bags- so if you are looking somewhere like ebay then do buy with caution.
I have two authentic Louis Vuitton bags; one is a traditional shoulder bag and the other is holdall or overnight bag. Both of them are in the traditional monogrammed print. If you are considering a monogrammed bag then I would definately recommend going for the traditional print rather than one of the seasonal specialities. This is because it will date the bag horribly and in a year or do it will look very passe, whereas the traditional ones will always be classy. These bags are seriously made to last- so it is not like you will need to update it every year.
As you would expect from a fashion house such as Louis Vuitton, these bags tend to come with a hefty price tag. You will be unlikely to purchase anything for under £400 and they go up to several thousand.
The holdall that I purchased was around £800 and has been fantastic. I have used it as a weekend bag and as hand luggage on flights. However, when these holdalls are full they are rather large so bare in mind that budget airlines may not be thrilled about them being used as hand luggage. The holdall does not have any pockets or compartments and just opens to one big space. I am not a light packer and even I can fit everything I need for several days away in there. The bag is made from real leather, and you can feel the weight and quality of it even when it is empty. It is genuinely tough enough to carry rocks in (although I'm not sure why you would want to).
The only criticism I have of the holdall is that when it is very full and heavy the handles do dig into your palms. I would advise someone to invest slightly more and buy the model that comes with the detahable shoulder strap. That is my only regret.
